Places are not neutral, objective segments of the physical terrestrial reality but sites of concrete human involvement. Places are those ‘pieces' of terrestrial-spatial reality that have been claimed by human intentions. The interactions and implications between space and place are basic components of the lived world, seen within the perspective of human experience.
Sustainability is interpreted here as TSL supporting collaboration and mediation on the neighbourhood level stressing the connection between the school institution and the local community. InnoArch will focus on two key questions; firstly, on developing methods for a collaborative planning and design process and, secondly, on producing spatial concepts for a TSL supportive “learning neighbourhood”.
