The InnoArch research will produce an internet-based learning environment for environmental studies in Helsinki at the Kuninkaantie pilot schools. The core idea is to use the locality, i.e. the neighbourhood in which the schools are situated, as a real-time-learning environment mapped in several ways by the pupils in ongoing projects. Pupils create and maintain a local knowledge database and a neighbourhood forum; a kind of virtual on-line book, where various environmental elements can be published and analyzed.
