The “Project based learning lab” will form a connecting point for the trans-disciplinary research of the consortium. The laboratory space is be situated at Jakomäki School in Helsinki . Research material will be provided by the Five Schools project at Kuninkaantie. Teachers and pupils from separate schools will work together collaboratively using the Fronter application and create a virtual, common space at a local internet forum ( www.koulufoorumi.fi ) which has been constructed for the schools and will later be activated for the use of the surrounding localities.
The PjBLL will be an opportunity to test project based TSL in an open room environment. There one can observe and document how the space is used and personalized by teachers and pupils. There can be pursued video observation as well as participative observation and participative design research. These studies will be conducted together with InnoEdu, the pedagogical focus on TSL processes and the architectural one on physical and virtual spaces.
The specific research questions are:
