Research

The research objectives of the InnoServe project are:

• To conceptualize the schools as integrators of the extended public-private “teaching services” for their learning communities
• To research these “teaching service” processes, differing along the four key dimensions, to evaluate how they support the studying and learning in and around schools
• To integrate the results from the three other co-projects from the point of view of teaching as service
• To facilitate the trans-disciplinary learning between the scientific partners for the development of the Future School Concept, and
• To facilitate the process learning and innovation between the schools and the company partners for novel service innovations for the Future School

InnoServe arranges SimLab™ process simulations for the pilot schools participating in the InnoSchool research. In addition, towards the end of the first part of the project, InnoServe organizes an integrative simulation to pull together the findings from the four co-projects.

The simulation day is the culmination of several months' in-depth action research project with a pilot school. InnoServe researchers formulate together with the pilot schools and their partner companies the objectives for the simulation project and define the cases for simulation. Thereafter the researchers conduct intensive interviews of the process owners and all key actors in the selected cases. Based on the interviews, the researchers design and validate the visual process model, and prepare the manuscript for the simulation. The researchers then facilitate the simulation discussion and the group works, analyse the results and write the final report.
